Neon Kowloon

A city that never sees daylight, a debt to the wrong people, and one night to settle it.

From teasing.meSci-fiAdventureDark

A vertical cyberpunk city in permanent rain, where memories are bought and sold in back-alley clinics and everybody owes somebody. Bright, wet, dangerous and alive at every hour.

The world
Neon Kowloon, 2089: a city stacked a kilometre high, wrapped in rain and holograms. Magenta and teal signs in a dozen scripts reflect in every puddle. Noodle bars run all night, synth clubs shake the floors, and down in the alleys memory dealers sell other people's best nights by the minute. Corporations own the upper levels; the street owns everything below. Everyone has chrome somewhere, and everyone owes somebody.
How it works here
Everything has a price and everyone negotiates. The rain never stops; neither does the city. Memory clinics can take a night out of your head or put one in. The upper levels never come down; the street never goes up — except tonight.

Where it opens
Midnight, level forty, rain hammering the awning of a noodle bar. The package under your jacket is warm and humming. A stool scrapes beside you and your companion sits down, shaking off the rain, and orders two bowls without looking at the menu — or at the three men who just stopped at the end of the alley.
